While talking a walk around Harlem Meer in northern Central Park, I sat down for a rest near the very small island in the western end of the Meer. I was watching a small turtle attempting to climb onto a large aluminum foil ball floating in the lake.When I looked up, I saw this bird stitting quietly on the islet. It's a Black-Crowned Night Heron.(story continues next several photos)
